Winter Olympics "Milano - Cortina"

Olympics 2026

The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place from 6 to 22 February, while the Paralympics will take place from 6 to 15 March.

The Milan - Cortina axis can count on innovative infrastructures and also on a bit of sports history: Cortina d'Ampezzo was in fact chosen as the venue for the 1944 Winter Olympic Games, canceled due to the conti- nuation of the Second World War and he returned to the protagonist in 1956, when the VII edition was held.

In Alta Rezia there is a place that may be definitive the cradle of the Winter Olympic Games, the Engadin St. Moritz: it is here that the first edition was held, in 1928 (that of 1924 in Chamonix was still in the era of "International Winter Sports Week").

CONI President Giovanni Malagò said: "We believe that the key to our candidacy lies in the word Together" and this is the main reason that has made Italy win, the strong common support, a great sign of union that will see a absolute winner: the territory involved, Veneto, Lombardy, the Ampezzo Valley, the Valtellina but also the whole of Alta Rezia, because it seems obvious that "together we win", but we must believe it all the way.
